INTEGRATION AND SUPPORT WORKER

POSITION: This is a part-time position ( *hr)
for an initial * month contract. The contract
may be renewed subject to funding.
LOCATION: Midleton and East Cork Community (remote working is not
available for this role).

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Integration and Support Worker will be responsible for providing
integration and support services to all in the community,
strategically focusing on the existing and emerging needs of
beneficiaries of temporary protection.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* To provide Family and Community Supports to International
Protection Applicants, Refugees, and Migrants.
* To provide information to International Protection Applicants,
Refugees, and Migrant Families to support community integration and
address family needs.
* To operate outreach clinics in direct provisions centres and other
settings as appropriate.
* To enable and facilitate local communities to work in an
integrated manner with emerging communities & with a particular focus
on International Protection Applicants, Refugees and Migrants.
* The Community Worker will participate in existing Migrant Family
Support Networks and support the further development of such Networks.
* To provide group and individual, information sessions to
International Protection Applicants, Refugees and Migrants
* Network with locally based representative/support groups and
locally based services e.g. other IPAs, Refugee and Migrant Support
Groups, Family Resource Centres, Community Development Projects, to
ensure the needs of International Protection Applicants, Refugees, and
Migrants are being supported and to minimise duplication.
* Facilitate Individual and Group consultations to identify the
needs of International Protection Applicants, Refugees, and Migrants
and collaborate with stakeholders (internally and externally) to
develop culturally appropriate community development responses.
* To support International Protection Applicants, Refugees, and
Migrants to play an active part in the development and operation of
community and voluntary services in the community.
* To provide information and training to health professionals and
those working in the community and voluntary sector in order to
enhance intercultural working on the ground.
* To organise health and wellbeing activities for International
Protection Applicants, Refugees, and Migrants.
* Ensure continuous monitoring, evaluation and review of all work
programmes.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* A recognised 3rd Level Qualification in Youth & Community Work,
Social Work, Social Science, or an equivalent qualification
* Fluency in Ukrainian and a high level of proficiency in English is
essential
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of local community resources and services.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Sensitivity to cultural diversity and a commitment to promoting
inclusivity.
* A willingness to learn and adapt to new situations, as integration
work may involve addressing diverse challenges and collaborating with
different community entities.
* Strong IT skills.
* Right to work in Ireland.
* Previous experience in a similar role or a related field,
preferably working with newcomers or diverse communities.
* Full driving licence and access to transport
